Making a Wedding Cake

Have you ever thought, "I'm going to do something nice today," and then finished it off with, "like bake a wedding cake?" Well one of my best friends Veronica did. A girlfriend of ours was getting married on a budget and to help out I agreed to do her hair/makeup and Veronica said, "I bake a lot, I can bake you a cake!" Seeing as how we're best buddies... I got dragged into this process. Did I mention that the cake had to be gluten free and that we were making it from scratch? Yeah... super fun!

We decided to split the madness into 2 days. The first day we baked the cake pieces and made the frosting. Day two was all about assembly and dropping it off at the wedding location.

Veronica and all our supplies. You see that right 3 boxes of eggs!

Veronica was getting messy, I was getting anxiety!

Cake's good!

I'm supposed to flip this thing over!
This is sketchy!
Veronica I need some help! Stop taking pictures!!
OMG I did it!
Can't pass up the cake!

This is what happens when you're drinking and waiting.

Cake Cooling
Cake batter was EVERYWHERE!
Next Morning... every thing's cool!
Eating Cake
It's soooo good!

Adding the middle layer

YEAH! Part 1, Done!

We had to add doll rods because of the weight of the tiers.
Oh yeah and we had to saw the doll rods.

FROSTING!

Trimming the cake down... Love the left overs

Two down, one to go!

I'm supposed to drop this down on the bottom layer.
Why do I always get the sketchy jobs?!

Time to add the trimming!

So beautiful! I'm soooo proud of us!

Time to transport!

The Final Product!

CAN YOU BELIEVE WE DID IT?!
We got a total high from it!

Cheers to us!

OH and anyone interested in one of our specialty made wedding cakes will need to pay us at least $1,000. 'Cause that was a bitch!
